Capital Grant Round Announced for Spring 2027

We’re pleased to announce that our Capital Spring 2027 funding round is now open, following the successful Capital Autumn 2026 programme.

Through our capital funding, Talbot Village Trust supports voluntary and community organisations across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, East Dorset and Purbeck to make practical improvements to their buildings, facilities and equipment.

Since 2015, we have awarded more than £11 million in grants to hundreds of local organisations. Our funding has helped improve community facilities, strengthen local services, support inclusive activities and create new opportunities for people across our area of benefit.

Our funding programmes continue to prioritise projects that demonstrate clear community impact and long-term value, supporting organisations that are helping to create stronger and more resilient local communities.

Capital Grants – Spring 2027

The Capital Grants Programme is open to applications for projects requiring £10,000 or more.

Funding can contribute towards a wide range of capital projects, including:

  • Building improvements and refurbishment
  • Development or improvement of community facilities
  • Major equipment purchases
  • Other significant capital works that form part of an organisation’s longer-term plans

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • Have at least one year of signed accounts
  • Demonstrate a clear need for the project and a realistic capital plan
  • Show how the project fits within their organisation’s longer-term strategy
  • Have at least 25% match funding secured before the Talbot Village Trust grant can be drawn down

The total project cost must be at least £13,333 to meet the minimum £10,000 grant request and 25% match funding requirement.

Decisions for this funding round are expected in May 2027.

In 2025, the majority of our capital grants were around £12,500. We particularly welcome applications from first-time applicants and organisations that have not received funding from us within the past eighteen months.

If your organisation has a capital project that meets our criteria, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The deadline for applications to the Capital Spring 2027 round is Sunday 29 November 2026 at 11:59pm.

We recommend submitting applications well ahead of the deadline wherever possible. If you are unsure whether your project is eligible or would like to discuss your application before submitting it, our team is happy to help.

Small Grants Programme

Alongside our Capital Grants Programme, our Small Grants Programme remains open on a monthly rolling basis, providing a quicker route to funding for smaller projects and grassroots organisations.

The programme offers:

  • Grants of up to £5,000
  • Funding for organisations with an annual income of under £250,000
  • Open also to those with less than one year of accounts
  • Decisions normally made within five weeks of submission

The programme is intended to support smaller-scale projects that can make a positive difference within local communities.

The average Small Grant awarded in 2025 was approximately £3,000, and we continue to encourage applications from new applicants and organisations we have not funded within the past eighteen months.
